3:30-5:00pm

Mat Fisher/Sparkling Cheetah

If you can't host your meeting date, please find a replacement to host. Our tribe has booked the Patrick Henry YMCA in Ashland (the one with the pool) for every Sunday Meeting till June, so unless you want to use your house or another location instead, we can meet there every month at no charge, and use the facilities and rooms. We have to let them know if we intend to use the pool so there are enough lifeguards.

SNOW TUBING at WINTERGREEN RESORT
This was canceled due to snow, so there was no snow tubing. Ironic isn't it.

Was to be hosted by Bigfoot (Richard Owen)
Richard usually buys the package of tickets and you can pay Richard directly.

Price was either $20 or $26 per person depending on how many people sign up.

CAR POOLERS AND CARAVANERS: planned to leave the Milestone Clubhouse parking lot at 7:30am sharp on 1/30. Our session was from
10AM till Noon for our group.  That would have required a no later than 7:30AM departure from the milestone clubhouse if you want to car pool or caravan it together.  While that requires an earlier rise, we would have been home by  2:30PM

Wintergreen Resort (check out the website below)

http://www.wintergreenresort.com/ski_and_ride/tubing.aspx

2 Hour session and you must be 42 inches tall (recommended for 6 and up).

Monday, December 14th

tribe meeting

Gather at the Milestone clubhouse at 5:45pm.  Convene for a brief meeting at 6pm.  We need to leave the parking lot promptly by 6:30pm.  Carpooling recommended. Princesses are encouraged to invite princesses or braves from other tribes to help them earn their blue claw.  Other family members and friends are welcome as well.

At 6:30pm we head out for the main event

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, GardenFest of Lights 2009  Nightly 5 - 10 p.m.

The show features more than a half million lights arranged in botanical themes throughout the Garden

Cost:·General Admission: $10 adults; $6 children (ages 3 – 12)

Garden Members: $5 adults; $4 child on membership

(ages 3 – 18)

Folks  can also choose to participate in Merry Monday @ 7:30 p.m.  Here’s the description:

Garden Keeper leads story time fireside with Santa “sightings” in the Conservatory.  Visitor's receive a free s'more kit to enjoy at the fire. Presented By Ukrop's.

Once there, it's up to the Big Braves to tend their own and determine how long to stay...

Here are directions to Lewis Ginter if you become separated from the caravan or must come late:

From I-95 South take Exit 83B, the Parham Road (West) exit

On Parham, quickly get into your far left lane. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Brook Road (AKA Rt 1 South).

At the third stoplight, take a right onto Lakeside Avenue. (There’s a brown Lewis Ginter sign at the light).

As you go down Lakeside Avenue, the Garden entrance will be to your right just prior to the Hilliard Road intersection.

Note:  if it’s rainy, that’ll pretty much mean we’ll have to forego this event.  It’s basically all outdoors and the timing is such that it won’t be possible to reschedule.  So we can still meet at the clubhouse since I’ve got it, but it’ll be more of a ‘catch up’ meeting than anything else.  I’ll be up there since I booked the place!
